Feb 19-21 – 2013 International Student Career Week

Dear UIC International Community:

The Office of International Services, in conjunction with the Office of Career Services, would like to invite you to the 2013 International Student Career Week February 19th to the 21st.  The following list of workshops are designed to help international students navigate the world of finding employment.  Whether you are a student looking for an internship or are about the graduate and are looking for a post-graduation job, these workshops will cover the basics of resume and cover letter writing to interview skills and navigating the U.S. immigration system.  The week will conclude a panel of UIC international alumni that have gone through the process themselves and can offer their perspectives.

All events will be held in the Student Services Building Conference Room C located at 1200 W. Harrison Street on the first floor.  You can sign up at the OIS website by following this link.

Introduction to Finding Employment in the U.S.

Prepare yourself by learning of the various immigrant and non-immgrant visa options for those seeking to work in the U.S. This workshop will take a comprehensive look at potential opportunities – from simpler options for student workers/interns to more complex employer-sponsored work authorization. This workshop will empower you to be your own self-advocate in the hiring process.
